Abstract
Violence in Colombia has been a recurring theme in national literature, with the novel standing out as the genre that has most explored this issue. Currently, there is a trend towards narrative centered on reconciliation, achieved through the exercise of rewriting the protagonists’ own identi-ty. This article examines how the narration of the self in three non-fiction novels –Mi vida y el palacio (Helena Uran, 2020), Cómo maté a mi padre (Sara Jaramillo, 2019), and Lo que no borró el desierto (Diana López, 2020)– acts as a path to reconciliation in the face of violence in Colombia. The research, which has a hermeneutic approach, is based on the contributions of Paul Ricœur and Hannah Arendt. It highlights that the narration of the self becomes a form of resistance for the protagonists, who re-signify their lives through writing as they confront their iden-tity, which has been disrupted by the horror of violence.
