Abstract
The present article deals with the foundation of the mission ofwomen and with certain aspects of the historic context inwhich this was achieved in the time of Jesus, showing themissionary action of some women in the New Testament. Thepresence of women in the mission entrusted by Jesus was notthat of mere collaboration; they had a responsibility in the eading of christians communities. It is evident that womenplayed an active role in the New Testament and took a directand engaged part in the missionary work.
