Abstract
The Political Constitution of Colombia of 1991 in its Article 44 recognizes the fundamental rights of children and adolescents as prevailing over the rights of others. However, there are still factors that interfere with the full enjoyment of their rights, among which are the asymmetries present in the habitat conditions, specifically between formal urban settlements and informal settlements. This article presents the advances of a qualitative exploratory study on the incidence of habitat conditions in the enjoyment of children’s rights, focusing on the relationship between housing rights and the city, with the right of children to care, especially those living in informal urban settlements in Bogotá.
