Abstract
One of the dimensions of the consecrated life is the experience of the Evangelical counsels, the source of which is Jesus. The vow of poverty confronts the conse-crated with the reality of the poor of the great majority of mankind. The work of Luke (the Gospel and the Acts of the Apostles) describes the criteria for Jesus to manage assets and how the first believers’ communities assumed guidelines amidst their difficulties and their successes. The believing community of Antioquia fostered a model where, without losing their identity opted for an effec-tive solidarity with their poor brothers of Jerusalem, who had difficulties with their way they managed their goods.
