Abstract
The occupation and legitimacy of property rights over land and territories do not correspond to a pacified social dynamic. On the contrary, the conflict is persistent with unequal power forces in dispute for the same space, particularly in frontier areas. The article analyses some of the main territorial conflicts in Colombia, particularly those that involve activities such as mining, large-scale agriculture and the classification of protected areas, describing the implications on the fundamental territorial rights of ethnic communities and understanding the agrarian frontier as a field in social dispute upon which contradictory interests converge.
