Abstract
This article aims to analyze in the book Mi Confesión: Carlos Castaño reveals his secrets, published in 2001 by Black Sheep publisher, under the authorship of journalist Mauricio Aranguren Molina, how Carlos Castaño, understood in his interlocutor role, staged a victimization strategy that contributes to a greater purpose: to justify their crimes and seek the legitimacy of paramilitary speech in Colombia. The discursive construction of a positive self- representation (and by extension of their own: the AUC) which implies, in contrast, the negative representation of the others, in this case the FARC guerrilla, is the central device of this strategy, which most visible result is a configured version of the paramilitary conflict in Colombia reduced to the classical oppositions: friend / enemy, good / bad, capitalist / communist, state / people, innocent / guilty.
