Abstract
This article analyzes Colombian diplomacy with the new Spanish-Ameri-can political unities between 1821-1826. For this, the three pillars of that diploma-cy, proposed by Colombian International Relations Secretary, will be followed: “alli-ance and perpetual confederation between the belligerents; uniformity of conduct with neutrals; and application of all its available elements of offense and defense against the enemy, until reducing it to the state of re-questing peace”. It argues that the Colombian diplomacy’s goals in the continent was to defeat the monarchical power in Ameri-ca, and to guarantee the union between the new Spanish-American political unities to maintain independence.
