Abstract

This article offers an autoethnographic reflection on the research project “Comicality and the language of soma”, led by professors Jorge Mario Escobar and Catalina Del Castillo of the Department of Performing Arts of the Pontificia Universidad Javeriana. In this research-creation process, we investigate how a first-person lived experience, manifested by the expressive movement of the body, is articulated as language in the creation of a comical dramaturgy. The creation of an original stage work was the primary platform to address our question, which culminated in the play Red Planet, the opening of the Basic Clown Technique course in the Performing Arts curriculum and the present writing.
