Abstract
For many Christians, for various reasons, Lucifer is another name for the Devil or Satan, and they are supported by the definition of some Spanish dictionaries. An imprecise translation and a mistaken interpretation of Isaiah 14:12 caused this regrettable confusion. Saint Jerome, in several texts of the Latin Vulgate, used Lucifer with the meaning of morning star or bearer of light, until revealing Jesus of Nazareth as the ultimate bearer of light in the New Testament. The author left us the challenge of changing our understanding.
