Abstract
Spatial plans (in Colombia "POTs") serve as the roadmap for the preparation of investment projects in the municipalities in Colombia. This article reviews the spatial plan (POT) for the Department of San Andres, Providencia and Santa Catalina and refers to a consultation of projects held on the on-line procurement records related to the strategic sectors identified in the plans. From this study it is concluded that while investments have been made in different works, it is still necessary to promote economic sectors that improve tourism and generate revenue with programmes supporting sustainable agriculture and fishing and the protection of reefs and corals.
