Abstract

The Theory of Resources and Capabilities is focused on sustainable competitive advantage consists of a set of resources and skills to the company, explaining that the process of internationalization of firms success depends on the existence of an integration of resources through adaptation and transformation processes to the needs of the international environment. This theory states that the decision to enter a particular foreign market emerges from the analysis of the overall strategy chosen to compete internationally, that compe - titive advantage depends on the resources and capabilities in the sector, the country of origin or strategic alliances. To establish how internationalized auto parts sector companies from the perspec - tive of resources and capabilities, performing a multiple case study analyzing two companies. It is found that the physical, human and technological, and entrepreneurial capabilities or founder and recognition of these companies in its sector, allowing higher levels of differentiation and competitiveness in the auto parts sector, concluding that these companies took a strategy input mode by differentiating sector resources and capabilities.
