Abstract
The processes of phase change in boiling streams are those have higher film coeffi-cients than the cases that involve single-phase fluids. There is an exponential growth in the demand for the efficiency of thermal systems, especially for applications of ref ri-geration, air conditioning and steam power generation. This is due to increases in fuel prices and the increase of standards in the efficient use of energy, as a consequence of climate change and savings in energy inf rastructure. Given the growing interest in the techniques of heat intensification in the last decades, the present work shows the passive and active techniques most used in the intensification of heat that are used to improve the heat exchange through convective boiling.
