Improved Broadband Double Ridged Horn Antenna Without Split Radiation Pattern

Abstract

In this paper a Double Ridged Horn Antenna (DRHA) for 1.8-18 GHz frequency band and VSWR 2.5:1 without split of main lobule radiation pattern at high frequencies is designed and evaluated. The results show that the proposed antenna have maximum gain equivalent to commercial DRHA with volume WxLxH of 4.5cmx11cmx8cm, weight of 132g and operating in a bandwidth of 1:10.
