Abstract
Franciscan thought and spirituality are renewed with each generation that drinks from the deep well of the person of Francis of Assisi and the legacy he has left to humanity. In this way, Franciscanism must account for an inexhaustible richness that looms as an epistemological horizon, as an academic reference and particularly as a lifestyle, a way of being and being in the world. From this context, Franciscan humanism is presented specifically taking as the articulating axis the course of universal brotherhood, as an ideal that marks out human existence and as a reference for the relationship with God, with the world and with humanity.
