Abstract
This study aimed to analyze the relationship between executive functions (EF) and adaptability among police training students. Utilizing a quantitative methodology, the research involved a sample of 50 participants aged between 21 and 24 years. Data were collected through the administration of two instruments: the BANFE 3 test, which assesses executive functions with high reliability, and the Academic Experience Questionnaire, specifically designed to measure students’ adaptation to university life.Despite the limitations of the study, the results reveal a positive but non-significant correlation between adaptability and the medial dorsolateral prefrontal cortex. This finding suggests that, although a systematic relationship between adaptability and executive functions in the police context was not established, exploring this linkage represents a positive step toward better understanding the cognitive processes that influence police training and performance. In conclusion, while the research does not provide sufficient evidence to confirm a direct relationship between executive functions and adaptability within the framework of police training, it constitutes a valuable contribution to the study of factors associated with police performance. This study highlights the importance of further investigating adaptability as a key factor in training processes, aiming to prepare competent professionals capable of effectively facing changes and demands in diverse social and operational contexts.
