Abstract
This research paper examines the factors and conditions that affect the expansion of Born Global firms in Colombia and how they can be assured of success in this national market. The author uses a model of causal relationships, AMOS 16 Software, and data from the survey conducted by GEM Colombia about companies that reported exports during the first years following their establishment. This study reveals that the following factors are associated with “Born Global” companies: market or environmental conditions, founder’s profile, and internal company issues. Emphasis is drawn to this last item as a key factor in the creation and consolidation of these international companies.
