Abstract

This document presents an evaluation of harmonic distortion of the European CIGRE residential low voltage bench-mark network when considering distributed generation analysis. With the purpose of analyzing the photovoltaic penetration effects in a low voltage distribution network related with harmonic distortion, the network was modified changing the energy distributed resources by photovoltaic systems. Five scenarios of photovoltaic penetration are proposed, in all of them, the position of the photovoltaic systems is conserved, and the power of the systems varies in 1%, 5%, 15%, 30% and 50% with respect to the MV/LV transformer rating. The network was simulated with OpenDSS in combination with Python, in order to dynamically evaluate the harmonic distortion.
