Estimación de la carga global de enfermedad en Colombia 2012: Nuevos aspectos metodológicos

Objective To estimate the global burden of disease in Colombia during 2012 using the new gbd2010 methodology. Results Through validation, adjustment and analysis of the death records found in the Colombian vital statistics system, along with the national results published by the IHME, the global burden of disease was estimated using the gbd2010 calculation methodology for 235 causes; underreporting mortality was adjusted and 72 garbage codes were redistributed. The years lost caused by premature death and, indirectly, by the lived years with disability components, were directly calculated. Conclusion Reproducing in Colombia the complete gbd2010 methodology for global burden of disease is extremely hard since the tools required to build the years lived with disability component have not been fully disclosed. A direct estimation of the years lost due to premature death component is possible according to this methodology.
