Abstract
Cigarette smoking has become a public health issue, deserving the attention of many different institutions that have been doing research in order to describe the phenomenon in our country. A study is presented here that took epidemiological measures on the use of cigarette by the community of the Javeriana University (employees, teachers and students). The findings are in agreement with those of other studies performed in Colombia, and suggest the need for more attention to the issue of the psychoactivant substances consumption in the University.
