Abstract
This article reviews the dynamics of the Taliban phenomenon and its resurgence as an undeniableforce and a highly resistant movement in Afghanistan. Pursuing the objective of restoring theirextremist version of Islam in the country, the Taliban group has displayed a widespread violencethat contributes to maintain the instability and challenges the government’s ability to effectivelyexercise its authority, all these framed in a structurally complex political and security context.
