Abstract
The article analyzes the understanding of mercy in the family context from a theological and pastoral perspective, using the family as a starting point. To do this, a methodology is employed based on the review of biblical theology and documents from the Church's Magisterium addressing the theme of mercy in the family sphere. The main findings reveal the importance of considering the family as a space for the manifestation of divine presence and spiritual growth, where fundamental values such as love and compassion are promoted, in line with ecclesial tradition. Furthermore, the need for a spirituality based on mercy is highlighted, which drives the development of family relationships characterized by forgiveness, reconciliation, and mutual understanding. The research also identifies the relevance of incorporating the teaching of mercy in family religious education and fostering specific practices that strengthen a culture of mercy within households and communities. These findings offer a profound reflection on the crucial role of mercy in family life and its impact on the spiritual formation of its members, providing practical guidance for families and pastoral leaders in promoting fundamental values in society.
