Abstract
Abstract:The name «Jonah» in Spanish, and also in Greek, identifies a person with a proper noun. But in theHebrew language the word «yonáh» has several meanings. Literally it means a dove but it isalso a proper noun: Jonah. This term appears 52 times in the Hebrew Bible bringing forward several striking nuances. This article intends to offer a new reading of this precious biblical text withthe help of other interdisciplinary sciences.Key Words: Jonah – Pigeon – Old Testament – Prophecy – Sapiential.
