Abstract
Copyright exhaustion is often identified as a “limit or exception” within the copyright system. However, such a qualification does not account for the termi-nological ambiguity that the “limits and exceptions” term entails, nor the rich jurisprudential tradition that the exhaustion has in legal systems across the world. This article proposes a categorization that accounts for these two situations and identifies the figure of exhaustion of copyright as a type of broad remedy.
