Nowadays, enterprises are still fundamental for economic growth, particularly
SMEs (Small and Medium-sized Enterprises), where their efficiency lies in
having administrative and operational processes organized with optimal systems that allow them to have control in all their internal systems, can adapt to changes demanded by the customer and the environment; these changes range from technological, financial, and social to environmental, (Vidal and Asuaga, 2021; Hernandez and Pascual, 2017). Regarding the environmental aspect, it is important to consider the restrictions and rules set by the ISO
14000 standard, which has the purpose of having control over the environmental performance of companies in compliance with the characteristics of this environmental standard which are the rules set by the international standard considering the characteristics of the enterprise
(ISO International Standards Organization, 1999).
