Abstract
n this article an intent is made to develop the significance ofthe world of Jesus and his followers, and to discover theimplications that had for a Palestinian woman the fact oflistening to Jesus and joining his missionary movement. Theauthor insists on the need of recognizing this world of Jesus as the Jewish Palestinian world and of considering the femalefollowers as Jewish women, even though Christianity andJudaism later on became separate religions. All this with theintention of looking at the pastoral challenges generated by thememory of that first Christian community for the Church oftoday, in the framework of the preparation for the V GeneralConference of Latin American and Caribbean Bishops.
