Abstract

Data gathering, the first step in generating knowledge, is a process that must
proceed in line with communities’ needs and peoples’ practices. In this chapter,
authors present case studies showing how technology can expedite data capture
in Colombia and across the globe, as well as demonstrating how advanced
methods can be transferred from other disciplines to provide meaningful
knowledge in Colombia.
