Abstract
The objective of this work is to state the theoretical framework about the classification of bibliometric indicators in the scientific literature from the criteria, classifications and trends emerging in the international context. The emphasis is on the development of impact indicators in systems of scientific information through assessments regarding the use of impact factor and its derivatives, as well asstandardization and mathematical weighting to establish comparisons between different scientific disciplines. New trends to measure the scientific impact on the Web, called almetrics, are conceptually addressed.
