Abstract
Abstract In this chapter we investigate the representation of nature in two texts: Del influjo del clima sobre los seres organizados by Francisco José de Caldas (1768–1816) and Voces místicas de la naturaleza by Laura Montoya Upegui (1874–1949). The objective is to highlight the presence of Catholic religious thought in both authors. The works are written in two distant periods, but there is continuity in the way their authors explain nature: on the one hand, both writers follow the illustrated scientific thought to explain the natural phenomena; on the other hand, they express a religious feeling toward the creation of the species.
