Abstract
This article explores the relationship between the body and absence through the research-creation of the 360-degree animated short film titled "La ausencia" (The Absence). Developed within the "Los Mayúsculos" project at the Pontificia Universidad Javeriana, the film serves as a laboratory to investigate how Virtual Reality (VR) creates a space to poetically approach absence from the body and from one's own and represented space. Through an open methodological process led by an interdisciplinary team, the work articulates reflections on movement (dance), universe creation (animation), and spatial structure (sound design) to evoke a physical and emotional experience in the viewer. The text argues that this VR-based approach offers new answers to the epistemic and theoretical-methodological challenges in contemporary audiovisual studies, redefining animation beyond its traditional supports.
