Abstract

Research report of The British Academy funded project ‘Documentality & Display: Archiving and Curating Violence in South America’ (2018-2021). This report focuses on the three archives that the research studied, Memoria Abierta in Argentina, the archive of the Vicaría de la Solidaridad (FUNVISOL) in Chile and the Centro Nacional de Memoria Histórica in Colombia. It tells the histories of these archives, and focuses on the challenges they have faced. The report includes a list of recommendations based on this work aimed at those who may be engaged in similar endeavours within or outside South America.
