Abstract

To guarantee the quality of water for human consumption, it is necessary to have a monitoring system for drinking water treatment plants. For this purpose, an architecture is proposed for the development, deployment, and commissioning of a multi-node water quality monitoring system using MQTT and RS-485/Modbus protocols. For the solution to be scalable and customizable, the design employs standard notations and diagrams and considers the national and international regulations; besides, all the tools used are either Open or Freemium.
