Abstract

This is a contrast paper which compares the architectural work of Taller de (S) "Residential Passages" (2016-2018) located in Bogotá (Colombia) and the work of Balkrishna Doshi "Aranya Low-Cost Housing" (1983-1986) located outside of Indore (India). The aim is to identify, through a comparison between these reference points, how different architectural strategies can influence the appropriation of space by the user.
To do so, the first step will be to understand and categorize architectural strategies from the macros to the micro: consolidation, participation and construction. Subsequently, the previous categories are compared to find points of convergence and break between both projects. Finally, it is justified if through their strategies, they manage to generate a change in the user's perception of the space, by contributing to its appropriation.
