Abstract

Colonoscopy is a procedure that is generally performed for diagnostic and therapeutic purposes, and its number has increased exponentially in recent years. It is a safe procedure with low morbidity, but some complications should be known. The diagnosis of post colonoscopy appendicitis is difficult and therapeutic strategies have varied over the years. This case report presents a patient who underwent urgent laparoscopy due to signs and symptoms of local peritonitis induced by acute perforated appendicitis 48 hours after the colonoscopy.
