Abstract
In the urban drainage systems design and management, the knowledge of the rainfall spatial distribution is required. To obtain this information, in the city of Bogota are often used interpolation methods whose inputs are punctual data recorded in rainfall stations. This paperpresents a review of the basic parameters that modelers should take into account before performing a spatial interpolation. Daily and hourly information was used, considering the inverse distance squared, Kriging and MATLAB (R) V4 methods. The obtained results allow us to define some simple on the orientation of the mesh, the cell size to be used, the previous structural analysis of the information and the interpolation method.
