Análisis de indicadores de densidad en el municipio de Manizales, Colombia

Since the inclusion of the different national laws related to territory planning and management after the 1991 Constitution, the urban interface of the municipalities, has changed as the socio-economic dynamics (such as changing population patterns according to consumption habits) adapt the new structural guidelines regarding the principle of the common good over the individual. In this sense it becomes necessary a review that helps to assess, analyze and reflect on the consequences and impacts of the implementation of the policies, with the aid of measurable characteristic urban framework attributes, such as: the settled population, extension (surfaces) and urban density as a factor resulting from the above.

For this analysis, the product information from the reviews made for the Plan de Ordenamiento Territorial, POT, del Municipio de Manizales, is taken as a reference, since its enforcement in 2001 (Revisions 2003, 2007) and the municipal framework agreement affecting political administrative division in 2004, having the Sociodemographic Profile for Municipalities and Districts according to the results of the XVI National Census of Population and Housing 1993 as a material for technic contrast.
