Abstract

This study sought to determine the differences between gender, academic performance in mathematics, and the different groups susceptible to stereotype threats (non-identified, non-involved, non-susceptible and highly-susceptible) in 130 high-school senior students. They were applied the scale of Identities and Social Attitudes (SIAS). It was found that both men and women showed a low susceptibility to the stereotype threats and passing performances in the mathematics course. There were no differences in the performance between the four groups susceptible to the stereotype threat.
