Acompañamiento pastoral y crisis matrimonial: una mirada interdisciplinar

This article is a research result concerning the “Comprehensive Accompaniment forCouples in the Annulment Process”; it pretends to address, from a pastoral perspective, the importance of accompaniment during a pivotal moment marital commitment culmination, based on the outlined recommendations presented by Pope Francis document: Apostolic Exhortation Amoris Laetitia and Motu proprio Mitis et Misericors Iesus.These recommendations call upon those, involved in parish marriage pastoral care, to adopt an interdisciplinary approach seeking the best possible outcome when providing comprehen-sive accompaniment. The reflection also considers how to accompany couples during times of crisis and emphasizes the need for collaborative efforts between the different related actors with marriage pastoral care and, also, professionals from different disciplines in order to favor discernment and permanent mediation with couples. It is essential to confront not only one’s own personal suffering, but also the couple ́s suffering. This implies, initially, the recognition of both vulnerabilities and the need of a particular accompaniment that, from the marital vocation, the experience of faith and the daily life of life as a couple, propose alternatives and practical commitments that promote the overcoming of conflicts before raising the possibility of an imminent separation. Although, in the most critical cases, the canonical process of marriage annulment could be considered.
