Abstract

Violence against women in Latin America in recent years has been increasing. We are witnessing a problem today it is cataloged public health, violation of human rights and a barrier to economic development. There are many campaigns that have been conducted on the subject, but in many Latin American countries are still far from finding a solution. In violence against women, there is a guy who catches the eye: intimate partner violence. The most common form of violence experienced by women worldwide is violence within the couple. Faced with this problem, theological reflection is called to find ways that not only allow to realize the scale of the problem, but to help find clues solution. These tracks, which will be outlined briefly, take us through a series of questions within the Church and for trying to criticize a number of categories, images and patriarchal structures that have perpetuated a false view of superiority of men over women and He has made many men feel about the"right" to mistreat women.
