Abstract
A new Neotropical species of Monstrophennium Jaloszynski is described: Monstrophennium bachue Tulande-M, Ramírez-Salamanca & Fagua, sp. nov. Until now, the only known species and record of this genus was Monstrophennium spinicolle (Schaufuss, 1866), described 158 years ago. This study provides the first new record of Monstrophennium since its original description, expanding the known diversity of the genus. Diagnostic characters, including the aedeagus, are illustrated and discussed.
