Description
Health and Lifestyle Trajectories in College Students: a Prospective Longitudinal Study of the first three years of College (PHaSE 1) College students are a key population to promote health because at this stage of life ranging between 18 and 25 years, behaviors or lifestyles that determine health for the rest of life are consolidated for most. To have a complete picture, the health study should include objective and subjective indicators, which in the case of young people can present significant discrepancies. This because in youth, health is overestimated and the risk of disease is underestimated. Considering the above, this project proposes a prospective longitudinal follow-up to three years in a cohort of college students newly admitted to a private university in Cali-Colombia, with the aim of studying the time paths of perceived health and lifestyles. The SF36 (Ware y Sherbourne, 1992) and CEVJU-R (Salazar, Varela, Lema, Tamayo & Duarte, 2010) will be used for health perceptions and eight dimensions of lifestyle.
