Project Details

Description

This research aims to analyze the configuration of the meaning of work in teachers and school in the city of Cali, in the context of the transformation of working conditions of the Basic and Medium Education sector in Colombia. Educational institutions are the context for observing changes in the working conditions of teachers and their impact on the meaning of work, which is understood as the set of beliefs, values and attitudes that are the result of socialization with and in The work, done in a context and that are assumed by a collective of people. The research question will be approached with a quantitative method. Participants will be teachers from public or private schools in the city of Cali, applying a questionnaire that measures various scales such as working conditions, perceived workload, general work wellbeing, Maslach Burnout Inventory (MBI), and engagement (UWES) . Data analysis will be performed using descriptive and inferential statistical methods with analysis of simple and multiple correspondences. The findings may contribute to both theoretical and technical aspects that favor the improvement of the working conditions of school teachers, through the design of organizational policies in this regard. Likewise, we will know aspects that refer to the subjectivity of the participants, from the configuration of the meaning they make of work, in relation to the work they do in the field of education.
