Description
This research aims to analyze the social representations about the use of digital information of university students when they write academic texts, because the use of information is one of the main difficulties of writing in higher education. Representations are particular forms of knowledge generated in interaction with others and they allow interpreting events and situations which people live. We will develop a descriptive cross-sectional study which will involve undergraduate and graduate students from different academic programs, as well as professors and directors of the Pontificia Universidad Javeriana Cali in 2017. The data collection instruments are a questionnaire, semi-structured interviews, discussion groups and document review. It is expected that the results of this research allow greater understanding of the use of digital information in writing and the phenomenon of plagiarism in university, which will raise specific teaching guidelines for our context and contexts with similar characteristics.
