Description
The Catalog of Seisms in SouthWest Colombia collects 4151 seismic events of this Colombian region. The presentation on regional maps of this catalog allows a human visual identification of spatial patterns. However, this approach is limited by the subjective evaluation and the amount of data that must be analyzed. From this situation arises the question: ¿How to recognize spatial seismic patterns and evaluate in a objective way the Catalog of Seisms in SouthWest Colombia?. The objective of this research is to establish a methodology for the recognition and classification of spatial seismic patterns by cluster analysis. Furthermore, it is intended to validate the obtained results with respect to sismotectonic regions modeled in the evaluation of seismic threat in South-West Colombia. The expected results include an organized and processed catalog of seisms, a cluster analysis that provides eismotectonic regions and a handbook with the established methodology for the preprocessing and data analysis.
