Description
Short life cycle products (SLCP) are increasingly frequent in several industries. Because of the transitory, non-stationary and highly stochastic demand of this type of products, inventory shortage and obsolescence are severe risks that cannot be adequately addressed through classical forecasting and inventory control techniques. We propose to develop models, methods and software tools for the forecasting and inventory control of SLCP, considering shortage costs, cost of returns and fixed shipping costs. The latter costs have been barely considered in the SLCP literature.
