Description
Optimized Solar Panel for battery charging In this work, a solar panel prototype that optimizes the solar/electric energy conversion rate will be designed and built. The energy optimization in a solar panel requires that the electric current continuously changes in order to obtain the maximum available power output. These continuous variations are due to the natural changes in environmental temperature and radiation. The prototype will include also a battery component that continuously store the electric energy converted to release it later depending on external demand. actually, the commercially available photovoltaic panel cells offer a maximum efficiency of 17%. In this research a novel dynamic current tracking strategy will be proposed in order to obtain efficiencies above 20%. The final goal is to guarantee a sustainable source of free and reliable electric energy in remote locations and poor neighborhoods.
