Project Details
Description
By analyzing the press coverage of Cali´s City Council, this research aims to characterize the struggle implied in the production of the state´s image at a local level. This research intends to compare images proposed by the Press with the practices and behavior of the city council´s members, while on duty. By comparing newspaper accounts of political practices with the strategic dilemmas of actual politicians (which are meant to be driven by structures, rules and incentives) we intend to understand how this particular institution and its role in the political System are defined and redefined, created and recreated, in a never ending struggle.
