Description
The purpose of the present study is to determine if return migration affects the possibility of being an entrepreneur, and to identify which factors influence the probability of a returnee to be an entrepreneur. Data from the Global Entrepreneurship Monitor (GEM) will be used; 2012 version of these data included questions about entrepreneurship activity from Colombians who have returned. Determinants of entrepreneurship in international migrants that have returned will be estimated using probit and biprobit models. In the former case, the assumption will be that the decision of being an entrepreneur and to return are independent (probit model), and in the latter case, it will be assumed that both decisions are interdependent (Bivariate probit model).
