Project Details

Description

Online supermarkets have advanced in the development of shopping in a supermarket lists that help consumers to identify their preferences and improve the shopping experience. The learning from the virtual world could be applied in the brick and mortar stores if shopping lists are provided to customers, reminding them of their shopping preferences and promotions. The question is: should retailers provide consumers with this list? an improved shopping experience could indicate that they should. To help answer this question, this research will determine the influence of the shopping list in the satisfaction of the shopping process for consumers. It will examine whether the satisfaction of the shopping experience increases with the use of a shopping list (stimulus based mode) in comparison with the satisfaction obtained with a memory based mode. Finally, the study will determine if an individual with a shopping list (stimulus base mode), is more susceptible to a promotional activity that an individual with a memory based mode.
