Description
The possibility and proximity of a scenario of post-conflict emphasizes the need to address the challenges of building peace in a country characterized by significant regional differences. It is essential to understand that the territories are not empty; they are spaces of power, of disputes for dominance among various actors. In that sense, the concept of territorial peace, takes shape in each particular territory and its peculiarities: forms of governance, actors and power relations, existing social, economic and political dynamics. That is the reason why, the characterisation of the territorial dynamics is key to understanding the content of territorial peace, in particular contexts. This research proposal aims to give substance to the concept of territorial peace, based on existing theoretical development of the concept, and four case studies of four regions, in order to provide methodological guidelines for the operation of rural and territorial development programs, and the social dialogue and participation processes created to build them.
