Project Details

Description

abstract: The PUJ of Cali has identified some tasks associated with some of its process (assessment, planning, performance, etc.). The execution of these tasks should improve the quality of teaching process and / or to contribute to a greater knowledge of the financial situation at any period, to perform certain financial projections and study the feasibility of new programs. Four of these tasks are: 1. Efficiency analysis of programs and dependences of the university 2. Forecast undergraduates demands (long-term) 3. analysis of evaluations’ results of the teachers, made by students. 4. analysis of room assignments for courses and exams The solution to all the former problems require the use of a reliable information, being the minimum necessary, because some of the techniques used to solve the problems requires reducing the dimensionality of the data. Much of the data required in these tasks are common, and are managed by different offices at the university. This project propose, prior to the solution of the problems addressed, an analysis of all the information necessary, applying expert’s methods to identify objectives, goals, constraints on each of the issues, clarity of information flow. Then, to apply preprocessing methods to data, including reducing the dimensionality of data types used in the subsequent solution of each of the problems to be solved
